An ancient warrior wields his kanabo* in the air preparing to strike. He is outfitted in complete warrior gear. On his head is a metal cap; tied to his back is a round shield that he may also use as a weapon. In addition to his short sword kept at his belt is ready to be used when he was defeated but not killed in battle. The samurais committed suicide in order to regain their honor. His feet are positioned in order support his weight and powerful movement. Gladiators are skilled and fierce fighters. This pure bronze sculpture was cast using the lost wax method. It stands on a wooden base with carvings.
