Description

Details

The Northern Official Hat's chair acquired its name due to the fact that, its crest rail resembles the Chinese Civil Official gauze-winged hat, which an official of the Northern provinces would wear. Known to be a chair of important, it is a prerogative of rank, used only by heads of households, who are normally high-ranking civil official, successful merchants, and for visitors of importance and power. Being the most vertical of Chinese chairs, with an impressive form, which forces the body to assume a position of upright rectitude, it is thus natural that the Northern Official Hat chair carries a significance of honor, dignity, power and authority.
