A pair of this huanghuali bed side chests are constructed with a well select hardwood timber piece. The piece was constructed by a master carpenter but subtle enough not to drawer attention to the piece. The legs are round along the exterior and square on the interior, referred to as a half-moon leg (wei-yuan nei fang).a simple undercoated flush panel design chest with a drawer above is neat and classic, within a pair of doors, it is fitted with vase shaped brass pulls which symbolizes peace

Details

Chests are popular for storage in ancient China. Small ones are placed on the table, and very large ones stand on the floor against a wall. In bedrooms, chests of different sizes are frequently stacked together with the smallest on top. This arrangement is not considered inconvenient. All sorts of things are stored in chests such as clothes in the bedroom, scrolls in the library, and food in the kitchen.
