The protruding round corner top is supported on slightly splayed corner posts of round section, enclosing the glass panels. The door panels, originally rattan or carved, were replaced by glass panels yet, it still retains the essence of this elegant and distinctive classical Chinese piece. Devoid of all applied hinges, the pure clean lines of this cabinet are achieved by doors with extended dowels on both ends, acting as hinges, fitting into sockets in the top and lower frame members. The only decoration of an otherwise completely plain cabinet, are the rectangular metal plates with their locking devices.
