Huanghuali Seal Chest

The top lid is raised at the center and gently sloping towards the edge. The faceplate, square hinges and corner are flush mounted with ornamental brass, and handles at the sides. A cloudhead motif lift-up hasp with opening extends from the lid edge fitting onto the lock receptacles on the doors. Hidden behind pair of doors are the little drawers, mounted with shaped pulls. Except for the curvilinear shaped of the base, it could be categorized as an clean line chest, and of exquisite craftsmanship.
